At the heart of every successful kitchen is its relationship with architectural language. In The Cottage Project, designed by Manuel Fusco, this relationship is taken further, the kitchen is not merely a complement to its surroundings, but an essential architectural element in its own right.

Located in North London, this contemporary bespoke kitchen has been designed to reflect both the character of the home and the lifestyle of its owners. The result is a space that balances lightness, warmth, and movement, creating a calm yet expressive environment ideally suited to modern North London living.

Bespoke Kitchen Design and intentional planning

Positioned harmoniously between two Japanese gardens, the kitchen encourages natural circulation throughout the home. Movement flows effortlessly from one space to the next, much like a smooth stone gradually shaped by running water, an approach that reflects both architectural sensitivity and thoughtful spatial planning.

This seamless connection between interior and exterior is a defining feature of high-end kitchen design in North London, where homes often blend architectural heritage with contemporary living.

Light, Colour and Materiality in a Bespoke North London Kitchen

From the outset, it was vital that the kitchen reflect the air, brightness, and unique architectural language of the home. On entry, the space is defined by a striking glossy royal blue, greeting you like a tranquil water feature. This bold yet refined colour reflects natural light deep into the room, enhancing brightness and openness throughout.

Balancing this vibrancy, natural oak veneers introduce warmth and texture. These materials echo the timber ceiling above, reinforcing the connection between the kitchen, the architecture, and the surrounding landscape, an increasingly sought-after quality in Luxury North London kitchens.

Asymmetric Kitchen Design With Flow and Purpose

The kitchen island adopts an asymmetric form, responding intelligently to the angular character of the room. This approach enhances openness while avoiding rigid symmetry, allowing the kitchen to feel fluid and inviting.

Two elements of veneered open shelving further support movement and visual flow. One sits alongside the wall cabinetry, gently transitioning the eye from rustic interior finishes to the light-filled garden beyond. The second forms an elegant architectural bridge between spaces, guiding circulation through a beautifully finished curve while providing a refined conclusion to the primary run of cabinetry.

Functionality at the Core of Contemporary Kitchen Design

While architectural and expressive in form, functionality remains central to this North London bespoke kitchen. The space is equipped with top-of-the-range Siemens appliances, with particular emphasis on the five-burner gas hob, a deliberate nod to the kitchen’s most elemental purpose: cooking over fire.

Bespoke cabinetry ensures that every millimetre of space is used intelligently, regardless of shape or angle. This attention to detail allows the kitchen to perform effortlessly as both a daily workspace and a social hub, an essential requirement for modern family homes in North London.

Lighting Design That Transforms the Space

Lighting plays a pivotal role in shaping the atmosphere of the kitchen throughout the day. Carefully integrated ambient lighting enhances the warmth of the timber finishes as daylight fades, while recessed LED strips beneath the island create a sense of weightlessness.

These subtle details elevate the central island, accentuating its form and further highlighting the striking tonal blue that defines the kitchen’s identity.

A Refined Worktop Finish for a Luxury North London Kitchen

The final element that unifies the design is a soft Calacatta Gold composite surface from Nile Surfaces. This refined material gently ties together colour, texture, and light, adding cohesion and understated elegance to the overall design.

The result is a contemporary bespoke kitchen that feels calm, architectural, and timeless, perfectly suited to its North London setting.

An excellent experience from start to finish. Their design process was professional and collaborative, resulting in a kitchen and dressing room that look great and work perfectly for our space. Communication was clear throughout, and the after-sales service has been responsive and helpful, which we really appreciated. Three years on and we're still happy. Manuel, Tomasz and the Point 5 team are a pleasure to work with and we would not hesitate to recommend them.

I have never had such a good experience with any company! Point 5 Kitchens is on another level. About 4 years ago, they made for me a full kitchen, bathroom cabinets, wardrobes, and bespoke cupboards. The quality is outstanding – everything is solid, beautifully made, and still looks like new today. The furniture feels very special, elegant, and of the highest standard. It is clear that the materials and craftsmanship are first-class, and the result is something unique and long-lasting. What I really like is not only the excellent quality, but also their service. They listen carefully, give helpful advice, and make sure every detail is perfect. Recently I asked them to adjust a cupboard door. They came the very next day and fixed it straight away – fast, friendly, and professional. It is rare to find a company that offers such exceptional quality, reliability, and care for customers. Point 5 Kitchens goes above and beyond, and I can honestly recommend them to anyone who wants beautiful, high-end furniture and a company they can truly trust.

Introduced to us by our interior designer and we could not be more pleased with the result. Joe was a pleasure to deal with, great design, plenty of excellent tips and first class after-service to deal with minor snagging. We have no hesitation in making this recommendation.
